"Talking to Patients About Breast Cancer Screening" CME Toolkit

To improve breast cancer outcomes, the American College of Radiology has created a free “Talking to Patients about Breast Cancer Screening” CME toolkit. Due to the conflicting organizational guidelines, confusion persists among women and primary care providers regarding breast cancer screening. This toolkit summarizes the most reliable data in the medical literature, and it explains when and why women should be screened. The toolkit further provides evidenced-based decision aids and brochures catered to both medical professionals and patients. Radiologists and referring healthcare providers are encouraged to display these brochures in their offices and distribute copies to their patients. The toolkit and accompanying CME module are available on the American College of Radiology website.
